In keeping with our mission to provide empowering and transformative programs we are thrilled to introduce Chicago’s only Martial Art Weight Loss program. Our Martial Art Program harnesses the power of Budo, nutrition and behavior modification to deliver a highly effective weight loss program.
We have incorporated Budo as our martial art modality. Budo means “the way of the warrior” and is a mixed martial art incorporating key elements of Aikido and Tae Chi producing a highly effective workout routine, which centers self while also developing strong self-defense ability.
Our program is a defensive and peaceful based program not intended to promote aggression or harm to others. Our program is ideal for those new to martial arts and both women and men are welcome.
The Martial Art Weight Loss program includes Budo, meetings with a dietitian and our Shared Determination group sessions.

Budo (Way of the Warrior):
Take exercise experience to the next level – becoming one with self, others, and the cosmos – this is the level of Budo Training. Learning to find balance, and keep calm in times of stress is one of the manifestations of Budo. Through the discipline of Japanese martial training, you come into harmony with all opposing energies on a universal scale. Here we become warriors of peace, for the protection of all humanity. We conquer the self, and become one with the universe.
Drawing from Aikido and Tai Chi Chuan, we design an hour-long class composed of five parts.
Diet Planning:
Our registered dietician will meet with you each week to design and review a personalized meal plan to maximize healthy and sustainable weight loss. Learn techniques to cook and eat healthy foods that provide more energy and keep you trim. Our dietician will design a personalized diet plan that fits your specific needs due to allergies, religious and/or medical diet restrictions and if you are vegetarian or vegan.
Shared Determination Group Session:
Our behavior modification experts will meet with you to review and resolve underlying issues that may preclude you from obtaining or sustaining weight loss. Issues such as emotional eating, depression, and poor body image are very common with individuals who are overweight. Our experts will help you identify these issues freeing you to make powerful life change.
